Step One...

So... a lot of times I find myself with a little down time, I surf the internet looking for inspiration. Recently I've been really looking at DIY blogs and youtube videos, so I decided to try my hand at it one day. It took me forever to find all the pieces to make this clutch but eventually I got to work. Here is the final product that took me ages to make. I have recently been incorporating the colors red, black, and gold into my wardrobe, so why not make something that goes with pretty much everything in my closet? Let me know how I did.

Plus, I rarely wear heels due to how much walking I do everyday, so I decided to give you guys a little treat (= It's a cute outfit, so maybe I'll wear it sometime soon.

Am I childish...

So... ever since I was a little girl I wanted to either be a model or a ballerina. Well I'm 5 foot 3, so I guess modeling is kind of out the question. And since I never went to ballet school, I doubt my feet can handle the pressure now. However I never gave up on the idea of tutus. I am absolutely in love with them. So when Sarah Jessica Parker wore that amazing green one on Sex and the City while she was in Paris, I knew I could not give up on my dream. Well I have searched high and low for that dress/skirt with no avail (if anyone could find out where I could get one, I would love you forever). But I have found a few people who have the same dream that I do (I went as a ballerina last Halloween) Maybe one day I can get my hands on one. But in the mean time, I can hope and dream...

That amazing green dress.

My wish list...

Just when you thought my closet couldn't get any larger, I have tons of items that I plan on purchasing soon (fingers crossed). I find that my style changes a little bit every season, so I have to find things that accommodates my new look. So far though, I find myself constantly lusting over the following items, no matter what season it is. I'm a shoe junkie/addict so most of them are shoes. But... yeah. And just fyi... Christmas is coming up... and Hanukkah... and Kwanzaa.... and it could even be a late Eid present. lol.

New inspiration...

That's what I find in this toddler clothing line, First Rite. I love the rustic feel that the designer Nikki Garcia incorporates into her collections. And anything that is inspired by menswear, sign me up! I am obsessed with her attention to detail with all the intricate folding and pleating techniques. She is a minimal and modern girl, with a little dark side to her. There might be an update to my wardrobe in the near future.

My playlist...

As you guys know, my laptop crashed a week ago. So I lost pretty much everything that was on there. I am learning my lessons slowly but surely. ALWAYS back up your files people. Any who, I am taking this opportunity (that's what I chose to see it as) to learn a little about myself. Before I had quite a bit of music on my computer that I didn't really listen to. I found myself skipping like 6 songs before I found one that I actually wanted to listen to. So on the bright side, I didn't have to go through all of that and delete everything one by one like I had started doing.

With that being said, I started searching for different artists that I truly liked. I didn't want to load my computer with a bunch of music that I know other people listen to, so I wouldn't get crazy looks when ever the song changed. I wanted to find music that I truly liked. So I decided to actually check out a few of my friends who make music. It's always cool when you're listening to music with someone and can brag to them that you know the artist when they ask. The following are my top 3 songs from a few of my friends who are trying to do their thing. (=

  1. Dead Presidents- Femdot
    • I love this kid. Femi from Chicago. I've known him for about 3 years, and it wasn't until recently that I found out he made music. Check him out. He's pretty good for someone so young.
  2. Cut My Tires- The Mohicans
    • I am obsessed with this song. Some days, I'll have this some on repeat all day. The amazing men behind The Mohicans are Dave and Devin. I love the way their voices sync together and the melody of how they twist their words that just flows together. I have not heard a song that I don't like. Maybe they'll be featured sometime in the future...
  3. Feeling Maself- Jetlag
    • Yeah, this is our Man of the month, Mohammad Sodiq. This boy is like family to me. I had everyone of his songs on my laptop before. I guess I need to catch up on that download button.
I'm not a huge music person, so don't ask me about it. I just know what sounds pleasing to my ears. Everybody is different. I am on a quest for new music, so let me know of any good artist or songs that you like. Happy listening (=
