Palo Duro Canyon!!!!...

I got talked into going to Palo Duro Canyon by 2 of my friends Bukky and Sieda. We were supposed to leave at 6am, but I'm pretty sure we all overslept and didn't leave until 8. It was a spectacular day with lots of fun. We got lost at some point, I completely climbed up the wrong mountain, but eventually we made it to the top to see "The Light House" It was an amazing experience. I would love to go again before graduation with a few more people, and WAYYYYYY more water. If you ever go hiking there, you need a gallon of water per person so you do not become dehydrated. Because that 6 mile hike was no joke.

Shamelessly Fearless...

One thing that most people do not know about me is that I have anxiety. So much so, that sometimes it controls my life. I get anxiety about meeting new people, taking exams, talking to professors, at interviews, and even applying for anything for the fear that I might be rejected. But I have learned that if I continue to be afraid and allow my anxiety to consume me, I will never accomplish any of my goals.

I have so much ambition and talent that I refuse to let it go to waste. So I force myself to do things like meet new people, study better for exams so I do well, reach out to my professors at the beginning of the semester, express my nervousness and anxiety at the beginning of an interview, and apply for different opportunities. I applied for an internship in Washington D.C. and did not receive it. And even though I did not receive it, my efforts did not go unnoticed. My mentor nominated me for protege of the year and I won. And I wasn't even expecting it.

If you have dreams and goals out there that you want to accomplish, go after them and do not let anything stand in your way. Especially fear. I watched this video and it reminded me that I have a long way to go. I am becoming shamelessly fearless. Thanks Shameless Maya for the reminder.
